- The fixes are in for the website...I've managed to tidy things up and make some use of CSS without causing problems with Netscape. The layout differs somewhat from the version that I originally wanted, but it should work well with any browser you care to use. This whole episode has left me less than fond of Netscape -- when it comes to implementing CSS, their browsers are about as compliant as a cranky 10 year old who's had too much Hallowe'en candy. Netscape maintains a list of "known issues" that their browsers have with CSS; I presume that they're called "issues" because Microsoft has a firm hold on the use of the term "features" to describe problems with their products.

- I've temporarily disabled CSS on this website in order to clear up some problems arising from Netscape's complete inability to produce anything even remotely resembling a CSS-compliant browser. Needless to say, I'm less than happy with the fine people at Netscape. The necessary work-arounds should be done sometime in the near future (i.e. before the New Year).
30 September - 01 October 2000
- Uploaded a new website design that's been under development for quite some time. It makes use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), but should still work perfectly well with non-CSS capable browsers. Much of the work was done earlier in this month, but it's taken a while to touch up the minor details and make sure that everything works. The following pages have also been added or substantially updated:

- Considerable overhaul of website. Major changes include the addition of sections on aviation and bicycle stuff. These changes also brought about the relocation of the Urban Vocabulary and Motorist gets to work on time pages. Much of this work was carried out in December 1999, and minor tinkering and changes have been going on right up until upload time.

- After further interruptions, there are now more Iceland Trip pages. The Reykjavík page will be finished soon so that inquiring minds can find out how the story ends.

- After a month of benign neglect, I've added text and images of our visit to the Krafla caldera, as well as another image of the mountains around Hólar. I also tidied up some text and made a few additions to some of the other pages.
